Project presentation to Irish Aid Vietnam

Yesterday my two classmates, my CIAT supervisor Tiffany Talsma, two of her CIAT colleagues and I met with Irish Aid Vietnam at the Irish Embassy in Hanoi. Irish Aid support the Vietnamese Government’s Socio-Economic Development Plan as well as funding the global CCAFS program. Below is a short Video summary of Irish Aid in Vietnam.

We were met by Réachbha Fitzgerald and Ngoc Anh of Irish Aid who gave us an opportunity to give an outline of our research projects to date. They listened attentively and asked about expected results of each of our projects which gave a chance for each of us to discuss the context of our projects in relation to other ongoing projects in our respective areas.

Following this Peter Laderach of CIAT gave some further background to CIAT’s work in Vietnam. Réachbha and Ngoc Anh were both interested in CIATs work on climate smart agriculture and rural communities since Irish Aid currently support programmes in several ethnic minority communities in Vietnam, therefore there may be some opportunities for future partnerships.
