Welcome to the Office

Between settling into the office in IRRI, adjusting to the culture shock and house hunting everything has been rather hectic since my arrival on Tuesday.

The new week is setting off on the right foot!

The meeting among NUIG thesis students last Friday to discuss potential synergies between projects was a great chance to see what the others are doing. I had the opportunity to see the topic I am studying from different, fresh perspectives in the work of my classmates with similar topics.

House hunting in Vietnam is interesting to say the least (especially in 39 degree heat). I was blown away by the kindness and hospitality of every landlord/lady that offered to show me around!

After such a hectic week, I am now settled and loving Vietnam.

Going through these gates this morning once again I am determined and excited to work hard on this thesis. 😁
