The Internet in Everyday Life

Since 2001, in addition to being a means of dialogue or social interaction, the Internet has been increasingly used as a tool for organizing offline events. This shift confirms the observation of Wellman and Haythornthwaite (2002) that the Internet has been increasingly integrated into existing offline practices and social relationships, rather than creating a “reality” that is completely separate from offline life.
