It wasn’t just work at the MsC CCAFS
All work and no play makes Homer go crazy….
In February the CCAFS society and the Organic Gardening Society went on a weekend trip ( organised my myself) out to Letterfrack in Connemara.
On a bright Saturday at a remote beach we had a fantastic lesson on edible seaweed. Coming from the west coast we were able to pick the seaweed fresh and eat it directly on the beach. A cold westerly wind kept us wrapped up warm until the enthusiasm from Marie LouiseĀ at the Ecology Centre had us wading into the cold Atlantic hunting seaweed.

We stayed on The Monastery, a lovely hostel at the foot of the Connemara National Park. Allowing us to climb Diamond Hill. It allowed us stunning views ( while getting some fresh air into our lungs). The view was stunning and we really appreciated the day. The pub afterwards wasn’t too bad either.
