The country profile developed will provide a snapshot of a developing baseline created to initiate discussion at national and global levels about entry points for investing in CSA at scale in Malawi. However, achieving the objectives of CSA will require transformative changes in current policies, institutional arrangements, and funding mechanisms to foster broad‐scale adoption of climate-smart approaches in agricultural landscapes.
- There is a need to develop innovative institutional platforms that will foster communication and integration across active stakeholders in CSA.
- The CSA profile outlines financial bottlenecks in Malawi and possible sources of Climate funding. Including gaps in the capacity of CSA stakeholders to put up fundable CSA upscaling project proposals.
- There is a need to involve farmers in decision making and include farmers’ inputs in the design and implementation of CSA projects.
