Here I come!
Well, my research project has finally been confirmed and I must say, I am excited really. My research project will seek to ‘ Understand climate change mitigation and adaptation impacts of large-scale fortification ‘ . Large scale fortification is one among the major programs implemented by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), which is an independent none-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland with several offices around the world.
What’s thrilling about this project is that I get to use my background in Human Nutrition to have an in-depth understanding of how food fortification is significant for the nutritious security and well being of populations , while also incorporating climate change skills to realize where fortification stands in relation to adapting to the Earths changing climate (Adaptation) and reducing Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) (Mitigation) . Also, it will be essential to recognize just how food fortification impacts the environment whether for good or bad.
I will continue learning and share updates on this interesting topic.
