It’s raining, it’s pouring…

It’s raining, it’s pouring…

Anyone who has been to Vietnam will know all about the storms. My God they are incredible.

The other night we sat with all the lights off, looking out our window just watching the light show 😀 All you can hear are loud, thunderous bangs and claps as the flashes of light fill the black sky. It really is a site to see.

Last night, we decided to have a wander about the city after work. Literally the second we got out of the cab, the heavens opened. We quickly ran into the amazing Lantern Lounge and watched all the people scatter, pulling their merchandise in off the street stalls.

After dinner, we ventured out into the rain. The streets were near empty compared to usual, which was a nice change of pace. Everyone was trying to sell us waterproof ponchos and umbrellas but I guess we missed the Irish rain so much, we were delighted to get absolutely drenched.

I’ve also learned it’s the best time to haggle because there are no other customers 😀 I attempted it for the first time and ended up having a great laugh with a lovely Vietnamese man who clearly knew I was useless at it but gave me a discount anyway. Off I went with my discounted chopsticks, happy out in the lashing rain.
