Leuven’ Life

Last Thursday, the 18th of May I finally made the jump from Galway to Leuven, Belgium- home of the AB-Inbev General Headquarters where I will be completing my internship over the coming months. Leuven is a medium sized city of around 100,000 inhabitants and is the home to the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, the oldest and largest University of the Low Countries and the oldest Catholic university still in existence. I find Leuven to be an extremely charming city. Within it’s circular motorway the city is characterized by cobbled streets, late-gothic style architecture and innumerous cyclists and pedestrians.

Since arriving I have been searching (somewhat frantically) for summer accommodation. Despite being a university city with a large population of seasonal students, most of the students are in Leuven through June as their academic year extends almost to the first of July. I have since been attempting to split my time between my work here at ABI and sorting out the details of where and how I will be living this summer. I am excited to get started working on my project and am currently seeking clarity as to what exactly I will be working on and my objectives and according deliverables.
