About Me

National Redwood State and National Parks

Hello! My name is Daniel Burke and I'm in the Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security Masters of Science at the National University of Ireland in Galway.

Some might call me crazy but the CCAFS masters program will be my second masters. My first masters was a MBS (Masters of Business and Science) with a concentration in international agricultural development at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey partnered with the Tokyo University of Agriculture.

During then interim period between my masters programs I had quite a few life experiences. I ended up working at Denka, a rather traditional Japanese company in the heart of Tokyo (Nihonbashi) and stayed there for a about two years...with many a business trip to New Orleans, right on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. I also worked on my coaching skills and taught middle schoolers all the way to university students. Before coming to Ireland I also had the pleasure to work at Earth Watch in Melbourne, Australia which was an experience in its own.

Going back a bit further, I completed my undergraduate degree in chemical biology at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. (Go Ducks!!)
