RESEARCH

The International Fund for Agricultural Development  (IFAD) is a specialised body of the United Nations which is an international financial institution and works towards improving the lives of rural people by eradicating poverty and achieving zero hunger. It is headquartered in Rome, Italy. IFAD works in partnerships with governments, through loans and grants which will be used to develop and finance projects, programmes and schemes in favour of the rural poor.

IFAD11 is committed to driving transformation within the agricultural sector and will pursue ambitious and transformational approaches to address the root cause of climate change, youth, gender and nutrition challenges.

For my research project, I will be working under the supervision of Ms Ilaria Firmian, Knowledge  Management Officer, ECG, IFAD; Dr Ana Maria Loboguerrero from CCAFS, Dr Charles Spillane and Dr Peter McKeown from NUI Galway. I will be reviewing the Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Programme (ASAP) project documents, undertake background research and support the generation of lessons learned for transformation along topics including nutrition and gender.
