About Orla

I am a MSc Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security student at NUIG. My undergraduate degree is Botany (BSc) from NUIG, where I completed a thesis of using yeast genetics to screen for phenotypic effects of plant-derived iron responsive genes. My fields of study within my masters course include; gender studies, global health, emissions, bio-based circular economy and policy studies.  The topic of my research thesis is based on pest effects on agricultural crops and their increasing presence due to climate change
