IFIAD; How do we provide nutritious diets for optimal health in the face of Climate Change?

2019 IFIAD Annual Conference

MScCCAFS students had an opportunity to attend the fourth annual conference of IFIAD, which took place at the Headquarters of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Iveagh House, on October 23rd, 2019, with the theme ‘Sustainable Diets & Equitable Food Systems in a Changing Climate.’  The conference had great speakers from recognized organizations relevant to our CCAFS course and was an interesting event to join in.

What does the future hold?  When the food industry is growing big by making unhealthy food, global warming is increasing and causing less nutritious diets and significant disparities in nutrition and health between the rich and poor. Everyone stands a chance to do something on reducing climate change impacts through a sustainable diet.
