About me

Hello! My name is Gillian Cummins and I am MSc. AgriBioscience student in NUI Galway. I grew up on a suckler farm in Co Clare, where I first became passionate about agriculture.

I completed my undergraduate programme in Athlone where I studied Veterinary Nursing. Throughout the three years I carried out numerous work placements dealing with large and small animals. After the three years I wanted to further my studies in the agriculture sector. I continued my studies in Athlone and did an add on course in Applied Bioscience. I conducted an FYP during this year which allowed me to work in the laboratory, however my project was not agriculture based.

Therefore I have choosen to do this masters to enable me to try gain more experience in the sector and hopefully purse a career in agriculture. I will  conduct a Thesis based on my skills and interests throughout 2019 helping me to gain more knowledge in agriculture.
