About Me

Background

MSc Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security student in the National University Of Ireland Galway. Growing up in the countryside of Galway beside my uncles farm which consists of dairy, beef and sheep animals, sparked my interest in agriculture. I attended the University College Dublin where I graduated in 2016 with a honours degree in BAgrSc (Agricultural Science) specialising in Dairy Business. Throughout my college years and to this current day I milk relief for dairy farmers with herds ranging from 30 cows to 280. After graduating I spent 20 moths working as an agricultural consultant in the Galway area. Since 2017 I have been lecturing level 5 & 6 Agriculture Science with Teagasc and the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board.

Having this background and work experience, I felt a change was needed as many are still unaware of the current and future climate problems and impacts agriculture poses. I have a keen focus on the agriculture impacts on climate change from livestock, farm management practices, food and water sustainability and security.

For my research project I travelled to the University of Tennessee.
