Second post: Areas of Polarization and lack of consensus identified at the IFIAD 2021

There were areas of polarization considered by the IFIAD 2021 including;

  1. Primary producers have a leading role system transformation but they need support from both international and national level to achieve the changes needed to improve innovation and the urgent need for climate actions
  2. Ending hunger and ensure the right for food for all to be at the top of the political agenda
  3. Communication is crucial such as between Governments and farmers – to be involved and motivated
  4. Inclusion processes such as including of women and small farmers (indigenous people) in decision making
  5. Governments take easier options of technical solutions in their pathways and ignore some of the political issues that create more equitable food system and realising the most marginalised
