About Me
Hello Everyone and Welcome to my Blog. My Name is Sinéad Nee.
I am a Master Student of Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security in National University of Ireland Galway. I completed my Undergraduate degree in Maynooth University. I am from Connemara where my Family has a sheep and beef suckler farm that has been in the family for many generations. The farm is of Historical significance and is protected by the Heritage Council of Ireland as it was a Mill belonging to English Landlords. The farm is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Coming from and farming backround I am no stranger to farming. I have a keen intrest in Climate change and Agriculture and I have always wanted to help Irish farmers in adapting to climate change.
My research project for this masters is centered around farmer perceptions to climate change in Ireland. I will be working with Teagasc Mellows Campus Athenry and in NUI Galway. This project is an interreg project on climate adaption that aims to identify effective policy levers to drive adaption amoung European farmers. The Core focus on my thesis will be on attitudes and intentions of farmers towards climate change. Throughout the summer months I will be research farmers perceptions to climate change.
