Agri benchmark Beef and Sheep Network 2018

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday i attended the Beef and Sheep Network Conference in the Galway Bay Hotel. This conference was attended my many speakers from around the globe including Australia, Argentine, Brazil, China and the U.S. One of the speakers Brendan Dunford talked of the Burren Programme Burren Farming and also connecting people and place with the Beo Trust Burren. Farmers in the Burren are faced with the extremely difficult terrain to farm so introduced was a scheme for the farmers. In return for building biodiversity in the Burren, along with stone walls, water fixtures, and other practices farmers can receive 180 euro per hectare. There is a grading system in which advisors must use, and it over seen by Brendan himself.

Take home message from the conference, for schemes to work there must be three interconnecting loops money, head and heart.
