About me

It all happened by chance one warm starry Antiguan night, when a friend sent me a link to apply for an Irish Aid Fellowship. Suffice it to say the MSc. CCAFS programme and I were a fit made in heaven – I have not looked back since. I am truly grateful to the government of Ireland for giving me the opportunity to study this course, to my lecturers for the passion with which they carry out their work and their readiness to share their knowledge, and to my classmates for sharing their skills and knowledge – thank you all so much.

I believe that core to slowing down and stopping climate change to manageable/ sustainable pace, is genuine respect for and valuing our environment as well as recognizing the inequalities that exist which prevent people from meeting their needs and the need for climate and social justice for those who are unfairly affected.

Food systems that ensure food security for all with minimal disruption to the environment-if any, should become the new standard in food production. Using and consume resources from our environment without regard is unsustainable.

So what was my most pleasantly suprising moment on this programme? – discovering that lemon grass, an invasive species in my country, is imported, packaged and sold in the supermarket here.

Lastly, I am excited to share with you what I have learnt through the MSc. CCAFS. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and find it useful.

Sincerely,
