Welcome to my blog. My name is Michaela Quinn from Cookstown, Co.Tyrone. My interest in agriculture began during work experience on various farms which led to employment as a stockperson on a large birth to bacon pig farm. Keen on learning more about the agriculture industry I completed a BSc degree in Agricultural Technology with Professional Studies with Queen’s University, Belfast.

During my degree, I had the opportunity to complete a year placement with Devenish Nutrition Ltd. in their pig department. My interest in pig nutrition and research developed through this placement and I secured employment as a Technical and Research graduate. I am currently enrolled in the MSc Agribiosciences structured research programme which will help me progress in my current role by providing in-depth knowledge of the Irish agriculture sector and allow me to build new research skills.
