About Me

My name is Mairéad Duffy. I am from Galway! I grew up on a farm. This is where my love of the environment, and agriculture was developed and was nurtured. I quickly became aware of the impacts posed by climate change. I am a former Agriculture and Environmental Management student in GMIT . I am currently completing the climate change, agriculture and food security (CCAFS) Masters programme in NUIG. There is no doubt that the world faces unseen challenges as a result of climate change e.g. biodiversity loss, increasing temperatures etc. The MSc. CCAFS programme has provided me with many insights into policies, gender, agriculture challenges, migration and climate technology. I currently work in the area of farm advisory on environmental schemes and implementation.
