About me:

Lorene Lefebvre is a Msc student of the National University of Ireland Galway program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) which runs in partnership with the CCAFS and CGIAR international research program.

Being able to work internationally, with researchers from different fields and nationality as always been important for me. I did my undergraduate studies at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse (France) where I studied the Biology of Organisms, Population and Ecosystems program, and in the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a focus on Plant and Agribioscience.

For me, working in the context of climate change is critical in agribioscience. Organisations such as those under the CGIAR system have an crucial role in undertaking research on the matter, while keeping highly ethical standards. I feel privileged that I have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team at one of these organisations, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) during my research project.

Being part of the international cooperation effort to tackle the Climate change crisis in my field is my main motivation as a scientist. With this in mind, I look forward to working with CIAT and to start contributing to this global effort.
