Hello, my name is Emily Rehberger. I am a Master’s student studying Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) at NUI Galway.

I graduated with a BA in Environmental Earth Science and Global Poverty and Practice from UC Berkeley in 2014.

After graduating from Berkeley, I began working with Edible Schoolyard NYC in 2015. Edible Schoolyard NYC is a nonprofit based in New York that partners with public schools to provide hands-on gardening and cooking education. I worked as a garden teacher at PS 216 in Gravesend, Brooklyn, providing in-school classes, family programming, food access events, school-wide sustainability initiatives, and professional development workshops.

I left Edible Schoolyard NYC in 2021 to pursue the Master’s of Science in CCAFS at NUI Galway. I am currently completing a research project for my thesis on regenerative agriculture and its environmental benefits, focusing mainly on the soil carbon sequestion potential.
