About me

I’m Eimear, a masters student undertaking my degree in Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security at National University of Ireland Galway. Growing up on a mixed sheep and beef farm in the midlands of Ireland left me with a strong interest in agriculture from a young age and this paved the way for me to study Agricultural Science in University College Dublin. I graduated from UCD in 2019 with an honours degree in BAgrSc , majoring in Agri – Environmental Science.

I started my studies on the CCAFS masters program in September 2019, immediately after graduating from my undergraduate degree. My four years of study had expanded my knowledge and interest in the environmental sector, as opposed to being completely agriculturally focused. I saw the link between agriculture and the environment and the need for a strong relationship between the two. My key interest area is food production, and doing this in a sustainable way!
