(1) To review and identify technology options for low-income smallholder farmers / rural communities for separation of liquid and solid fractions of digestate that enhances the value of both co-products.
(2) To determine what is the agricultural and commercial value of the liquid and solid fractions of digestate within local markets in developing countries.
(3) To identify barriers and opportunities for accelerated rolling out of technology options for smallholder farmers / rural communities to separate liquid and solid fractions of digestate in a practical, cost-effective manner that enhances the livelihoods of the farmers and their households.
