Thoughts ahead of COP26

1st November 2021

Today marks the beginning of COP26 which as we all know is a hugely important event that will influence many of our lives for years to come.

If COP26 is a success the decisions made here could have serious impacts in keeping climate change below 1.5°C. Information coming out of the conference will flood all of our newsfeeds, timelines and media outlets for the next few weeks and it may be hard to figure out what is really happening, however I hope and believe that following the conference the conversation will continue and we can get an understanding of what the outcomes may be.

Personally I will paying close attention to the proceedings myself and with the help of my fellow MSc CCAFS students. I hope that I will feel inspired or driven by the conversations that occur and will be looking out for groups or sectors that I might be interested in joining following this course.

I will also be thinking about my research project during the next 2 weeks and think there is a definite potential that the conversations I hear coming from COP26 could give me ideas which help me decide on a project.
