We will apply cutting-edge bioeconomic and consequential life cycle assessment modelling to quantify the sustainability of these prospective scenarios. We will generate a scientifically rigorous evidence base for academic, policy and industry stakeholders regarding the GHG mitigation efficacy and wider sustainability of AFOLU transitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SeQUEsTER team will address the following Objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Compile a review of current evidence on GHG mitigation in AFOLU  <\/li><li> Derive operational definitions of the \u201ccarbon neutrality\u201d concept in an AFOLU context <\/li><li> Initiate and maintain transdisciplinary cooperation among stakeholders<\/li><li> Develop indicative scenarios of (pathways towards) AFOLU carbon neutrality<\/li><li> Critically evaluate current models used to project AFOLU emissions and sinks<\/li><li> Develop existing bioeconomic models into an AFOLU bioeconomic modelling architecture <\/li><li> Apply AFOLU bioeconomic models to generate information on environmental (GHG and ammonia emissions, nutrient losses) and economic outcomes from business and usual and indicative carbon neutrality scenarios<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SeQUEsTER will apply a transdisciplinary approach to co-develop with relevant stakeholders potential pathways towards carbon neutrality by 2050 for Ireland\u2019s AFOLU sector, considering bioeconomy innovations.
