I\u2019m Shauna-Rose Murphy, a MSc. CCAFS (Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security) student at NUI Galway. I graduated from University College Cork with a BSc. (Hons) in Environmental Plant Biotechnology. My undergraduate research project examined the effect of biochar on weed suppression, seed germination and in vitro study. This course covered modules such as crop physiology, food production, genetic manipulation of plants, and the environmentally protective management of plant pests and pathogens.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to pursue my interest in sustainable food production and the challenges faced in varying climatic conditions to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population. Therefore, I chose this Masters which offered a broad range of topics in relation to climate change, varying from gender issues to nutrition, policies, and bio-based circular economy. In addition, my research thesis will be focused on the water footprint of Robusta coffee production in Vietnam\u2019s Central Highlands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Hello!
