At first I thought arduino was the fuel of nightmares and to some extent it still is but its also a pretty nifty device for the purposes of this project. Arduino is essentially an open-source prototyping platform which utilizes easily accessible software and hardware (I mean, even I can use it, kind of). For my project I am going to use arduino alongside the T6713 CO2 sensor to make accurate measurements of CO2 concentrations in agricultural soils. Arduino has been used by millions of people for a diversity of projects which you can check out here. Its a versatile tool that isn’t just used by scientists but also innovators, designers, programmers, engineers and every day folk. Some people even purchase arduino as Christmas presents! To be honest I think I’d prefer a selection box and Love Actually on repeat.
