NICOLE OLWEEAN

I am currently a student in the MSc Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security program at the University of Galway. I am originally from the US, where I lived in Michigan and California. I come from a humanities background, with a BA and MFA in Writing and professional experience in teaching, community health work, writing, and climate change & health curriculum development. I have always been drawn to food security and climate change issues and the creative ways they can be addressed. My interest in the intersection of migration and food systems began while volunteering with Common Bond Institute, an organization that provides psycho-social services for Syrian refugees living in Jordan and the US.
