I was told that farmers will literally laugh at me because Nat means broken or rubbish in Vietnamese. Not the worst I thought but, O.K it’s not great I’ll admit. Apparently Natalie isn’t a good option either because it is too hard to remember and say; hence I was rechristened Ly (which means beautiful flower naaawww).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Off I went, happy out with my new name! Of course when I arrived, the Vietnamese women we were working with decided I shouldn’t be called Ly at all, and wanted to call me Snow White instead. Naturally this name came from their sheer amazement\/disbelief at how pale I was (even though I thought I had a fabulous tan….gutted). Naturally, I took it all in good spirits and we took plenty of pictures together and used googled translate to help us have a little giggle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plantagbiosciences.org\/people\/natalie-cunningham\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2019\/07\/0A5CAD72-99DD-42D6-859B-95BB4D4DC9F8-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.plantagbiosciences.org\/people\/natalie-cunningham\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2019\/07\/0A5CAD72-99DD-42D6-859B-95BB4D4DC9F8-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.plantagbiosciences.org\/people\/natalie-cunningham\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2019\/07\/0A5CAD72-99DD-42D6-859B-95BB4D4DC9F8-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.plantagbiosciences.org\/people\/natalie-cunningham\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/74\/2019\/07\/0A5CAD72-99DD-42D6-859B-95BB4D4DC9F8-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/>
Having the chats before one of the focus group discussions.P.S.
