Hi everyone, welcome to my blog! I am currently an MSc student studying Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security in the University of Galway. I also hold a bachelors of Science degree (Hons) in Earth and Ocean Sciences from the University of Galway. In addition to my passion for science and the climate, I also have a love for music, among many other things! So it seems fitting to have my research project for my masters based on these two things: Music festivals and sustainability!
Specifically I am currently undertaking a research project that involves an interdisciplinary collaborative approach where the goal of our research paper is to provide a tool kit which can facilitate guidelines for measures to be implemented in festivals of a small to medium scale in order to reduce their carbon footprint, ultimately achieving festival sustainability.
I hope to take you along with us on our exciting research journey, sharing with you content whether it be results, photos etc and updating you all on our findings and research progress.
I hope that my blog proves somewhat helpful for you in learning about the sources of emissions associated with music festivals and what we can do in order reduce our carbon footprint. And whilst you are learning we are also learning and discovering on this journey. Ultimately what we want to achieve or work towards is achieving festival sustainability.
