Based on our analysis of the Galway Jazz festival 2019 emissions, we found that the majority of emissions were from audience travel to the festival with the majority of the audience having travelled to the festival by car. Locality has a strong influence as the infrastructure and public transport system in Galway are suboptimal, so we would recommend festival organisers to engage with city and county councils on improving the transport system in order to influence attendees mode of travel to the festival by choosing a more sustainable mode of transport where possible.
