Following a busy few weeks of write-up and last-minute incorporation of results, my MSc thesis has been submitted! Though challenging at times, it has been an enjoyable and rewarding experience overall. I\u2019m grateful that I got the chance to carry out my placement in Vietnam, and my supervisors in CIAT and NUI Galway were supportive and encouraging throughout.<\/p>\n
Have a look at the\u00a0results<\/a>\u00a0section for an overview of the key research findings.<\/p>\n I had many interesting discussions about cocoa, deforestation and carbon assessments along the way which gave me new perspectives on some of the project challenges such as mapping cocoa remotely at a large scale. Though not possible for my project, the methods used here have potential for use in national assessments as improved quality and quantity of input data becomes available.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve enjoyed documenting my research journey and I hope this website has provided some interesting background and relevant information. My next step will be presenting these findings at the MScCCAFS student conference on Friday 7th September.
