Flooding is one of the typical extreme weather situations affecting South Sudan for the past five years. Millions of households are been displaced; people are made homeless, food security is in shambles. I have been personally involved in providing response mechanisms to address the effect of extreme weather conditions… My post-graduate studies in NUI, Galway, Ireland on climate change, Agriculture, and Food Security, has my thesis on carbon sequestration in tree species has provided valuable academic views on how to mitigate the persistent flooding happening in South Sudan on yearly basis.
