Seeing some of vietnam

Now we are coming to an end to our time here, and we still havent met with our other classmates who arrived here some 5weeks ago, so the first thing to do in our freetime was to rectify that.
It was a good time to check out some bar recommendations we had recieved while here aswell.

With that checked off, it was time to see a bit more of Vietnam other than our immediate area and the centre of the city.
Ha long bay is somewhere that I had heard alot about, so it seemed the natural choice for an excursion.
Planning may not be my strongsuit as I arrived there too late to take a bat tour on the first day, and on the second day there was a freak storm in the morning which poured out the most amount of rain I had seen the whole time I have been here.
We finally got to do a tour of the area on a boat and it was just spectaculuar. We made some friends on the tour and had an evening with them before retiring to our rooms.

Once back in VNUA, next on the list was some local tourist attracction – we decided on Ho chi minhs mausoleum and spend the day touring around this area – though unfortunately the actual mausoleum was undergoing construction at this point so we couldnt get inside – still, the grounds were nice.
We did some shpping before returning home late in the evening.

Finally we finished the week by having another meeting with out team and supervisor where we could ask questions about our resarch.
