Harvesting – Last of the field work

Last week was a week of field work oout in yen bai, this week we went straight to te lab ot continue labratory analysis of various parameters of the soil.
In addition to this, I wrote up some methods and dhad some spare time to explore the local shops and cusisine.

Due to the extremely sunny weather, – it has only rained a handful of times during the entire month ive been here – the rice matured faster than expecte, meaning later in this week We travelled to yen bai again – This time there was no error with getting the right bus as we travelled with our coordinator in his car. We harvested the rice, had dinner with the head of the village and then the next day returned to vnua.

Much of the rice had fallen over due to wind stress, I thought it would be interesting to note which plots had fallen over but it seemed a great majority had with no clear pattern.

We ended the week with a meeting with the dean of our faculty to seek her input on our projects and began the yield analysis under supervision from the head of our subproject.
