Securing a good harvest in a changing climate is one of most pressing challenges in the developing World. Apart from inadequate access to farm inputs such as fertilizers, biophysical inputs such as soils and irrigation water has an effect on the amount of crops reliased especially for farmers dependent on rain- fed farming systems. However, pests and disease are equally a concern. Changes in temeprature and humidity has contibuted to an increase in the number of pests and deisease attacking crops.

The push and pull methods of dealing with pests is a climate smart Agriculture approach being promoted not only to safegaurd the enviroenemnt by reducing the use of chemicals, but is also effective in dealing with pests, increase crop harnest and contribute to improving livelihoods.
